Productive & Outcome-Oriented Meeting with CA, GMADA – 26 Dec 2025

The Mohali IT City IT Companies Association had a productive meeting with the Chief Administrator, GMADA, focusing on key policy, building rules, and infrastructure issues at IT City Mohali.

Mr. Manipal Dhariwal, President, MITCA and CEO & Co-Founder, Netsmartz Group thanked CA GMADA for resolving various issues in the past few months. However, he raised critical concerns which continue to remain pending, during the meeting.

Key policy matters discussed:

* Relaxation in Transfer conditions

* Rationalisation of Water charges & Compounding per sqft rates (the other component of Compounding Charge, namely Compoundable Area, already being addressed through Unified Rules 2025)

* Leasehold to Freehold conversion

* Confirmation on Applicability of Conversion policy for Industrial plots to IT City

* Fragmentation / sub-division of Plots in line with that allowed for PSIEC plots

Infrastructure & operational issues raised:

-Erratic power supply while capacity had been augmented

-Road recarpeting & non-functional streetlights in Sector 101-A

-Liquor vend issue within IT City

-Illegal garbage dumping at Airport Road (Sector 101-A)

-Missing approach roads for plots: i-23, i-29, i-34, i-50 in Sector 101-A

-Irregular & insufficient water supply within IT City

-Realignment of the choe & Provision of appropriate Earthen Embankment

-Provision for Multilevel parking in Sectors 83 A & 101 A

Smt. Sakshi Sawhney, IAS, Chief Administrator, GMADA gave patient hearing and assured consideration and action on above points raised.

She further informed that the New Building Rules 2025 have been stayed by the Hon’ble High Court on 24 Dec 2025, the last day before Court vacations, with the next hearing presently fixed for 13 March 2026. They will be making their best efforts for early vacation of the stay once the Courts resume in early January 2026. 

Senior Government officials from GMADA including ACA GMADA; ACA (Policy); Estate Officer (Buildings); CE Electrical besides others participated in the deliberations.
