Mohali IT City Association Pushes for GCC Policy at Punjab IT Sector Committee Meet

The Mohali IT City IT Companies Association participated in the 2nd Meeting of the Punjab IT Sector Committee, held on 20th August 2025.

Constituted by the Government of Punjab, the committee includes key industry leaders tasked with strengthening the state’s IT ecosystem and recommending strategic policy measures for sectoral growth.

The meeting, chaired by Ms. Geetika Singh, PCS, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Mohali, focused on inputs for shaping Punjab’s upcoming IT Policy and discussed ways to boost innovation, infrastructure, and digital transformation.

Mr. Manipal Dhariwal, President of the Association and Co-Founder & CEO of Netsmartz Group, emphasized the need to build “Brand Mohali” as a leading tech destination and urged the government to introduce a dedicated GCC Policy—one that could create over 100,000 jobs and attract global companies to Punjab.

Key agenda items included enhancing the visibility of Punjab’s IT sector, enabling unicorn creation, and exploring emerging technologies like blockchain to drive transparency and efficiency.
