MITCA Holds Members’ Meet to Review Progress & Strengthen ‘Brand Mohali’ Vision

The Mohali IT City IT Companies Association (MITCA) held a Members’ Meet on 25th September 2025, bringing together representatives from over 25 IT organizations to review ongoing initiatives, discuss infrastructure and policy updates, and gather member feedback.

The meeting, chaired by Mr. Manipal Dhariwal, President, featured detailed updates on IT City Mohali’s growth trajectory — including 80 allotted plots, a 5.7 million sq. ft. built-up potential, and projected employment generation of 1.14 lakh direct and 5 lakh indirect jobs across AI, Cybersecurity, KPO, and Software Development domains.

Mr. Dhariwal also shared insights from his recent meeting with Hon’ble Minister Shri Sanjeev Arora, highlighting the government’s commitment to addressing issues like power reliability, street lighting, roads, landscaping, and drainage, and advancing policies for GCCs, data centres, and airport connectivity to position Mohali as a “Live–Work–Play” IT City.

Mr. Jitin Talwar, Vice President, emphasized the importance of membership renewal and financial discipline, while Mr. Satinder Bedi, General Secretary, updated members on policy advocacy—including leasehold-to-freehold conversion, compounding charge rationalisation, and inclusion of MITCA’s recommendations in the Unified Building Rules 2025.

Members discussed operational issues and shared vendor information for common services. A Google Sheet tracker was introduced to streamline issue reporting and government follow-ups.

The meeting concluded with a corporate presentation by Wipro on energy-efficient lighting solutions and a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Dhariwal, who acknowledged CS Soft Solutions for hosting and Wipro for sponsoring the event.

From the Secretariat, Ms. Rimneet Kaur and Mr. Vineet K. Verma actively participated in the proceedings.
