Interactive session on “Implementing New Labour Codes: Best Practices” on 26th June 2026
The Mohali IT City IT Companies Association successfully organised an Interactive session on “Implementing New Labour Codes: Best Practices” on 26th June 2026 at CS Soft Solutions, IT City, Mohali.
The session commenced with the welcome remarks by the General Secretary, Mohali IT City IT Companies Association, Mr. Satinder Singh Bedi who highlighted that as IT City Mohali grows into one of the most promising ecosystems in this part of the country, for this growth to be sustainable, it has to be built on foundation of compliance, in letter and spirit, with the extant laws like the New Labour Codes, which if implemented well, promise to be a win-win for the employer and the employee.
The technical session was led by Mr. Sarthak Prashar, Director and Mr. Deepak Bhardwaj, Associate Director from Grant Thornton Bharat LLP, who shared practical insights on the implementation of the New Labour Codes, covering key compliance requirements, the revised definition of wages, employee classification, Draft Punjab Labour Rules, contract labour, and organisational preparedness for the new regulatory framework.
The technical session and the fireside chat that followed were moderated by Adv. Pooja Nayar, Founder & Principal Consultant, Pratham HR & Legal Solutions.
The event ended with an engaging Q&A where participants’ queries were addressed by the experts.
The participants were highly appreciative of the practical insights and relevance of the session, and suggested that given the vastness of the provisions of the New Labour Codes, a longer session may be planned in due course.
Another highlight of the evening was an insightful presentation by Mr. Tanay Dalal, Senior Economist, Axis Bank Mumbai, on the global economic outlook, covering geopolitical developments, inflation, interest rates, currency trends, commodity prices, and their impact on businesses. A brief presentation focused on specialised banking and trade finance solutions for IT and MSME exporters, including foreign exchange services, export-import financing, treasury solutions, and the Neo Digital Trade Platform, was also led by the leadership team from Axis Bank Regional Office.
A comprehensive presentation was delivered by Mr. Harjeet Singh Bagga, Director Sales, Berkeley Façade & Interiors (Window World) showcasing innovative façade and interior solutions, highlighting the company’s expertise and landmark projects.
Ms. Rimneet Kaur, Executive Director, Mohali IT City IT Companies Association, served as the Master of Ceremonies and delivered the Vote of Thanks.
Axis Bank partnered with the event as the Banking Partner, while CS Soft Solutions was the Venue Partner.
The programme witnessed the participation of around 80 delegates, making it a highly successful and enriching event.
